Letterpress/Polymer Weekendworkshop

During these two days we will introduce you into the basics of typesetting, both metaltype and wood, and how to handle the polymer-machine. With this machine you can transform your digital file easily into an analogue printing plate, to be used on one of the 7 different presses GWA owns.

This weekend is suitable for absolute beginners, as well as for people with experience in printing.

Included in the price are 3 plates of polymer (A5), ink, paper, coffee, cappuccino, tea, chocolate. Bring your own easy-to-snatch-lunch, since we experienced that is too much fun to waste too much time on eating.

Grafisch Werkcentrum Amsterdam [GWA] is a typographic lab based in the 'Upper East' of Amsterdam. We provide courses and workshops in graphic techniques like linocut and drypoint, as well as in letterpress and bookbinding.

Enjoy the smell of ink in our wonderful workspace!
